	God's mercy inspires us to share His compassion with others. Poverty takes away a child’s ability to make choices. Here at First Baptist Church, we're partnering with World Vision in our global mission initiative to sponsor children in Zimbabwe so that we can give children the power to choose for themselves! Each participating member will be Chosen by a child to help instill dignity, choice, and hope. When children have the power to choose their own sponsor, they begin a journey to transform their own lives. And being chosen can transform you too. Here's how it works: During our Sunday April 12 kickoff, First Baptist members and friends will sign up to sponsor a child in Zimbabwe. Each participating sponsor will have their photograph taken in the World Vision photo booth, located in our church vestibule (or you can upload your own photo). During the week of April 12, photographs of the participating sponsors from First Baptist Church will be presented to children in a special "Choosing Party" in a village in Zimbabwe. Each child will choose a photo of their liking, which completes the match for the sponsorship. On Sunday April 19, each participating sponsor will have their sponsored child's photo revealed to them during a special time in the morning worship service. Throughout your time of sponsorship, the World Vision team will provide you with personalized updates about your sponsored child.

How can you participate? Signing up to be Chosen means that you are already having a positive impact on the child who chooses you. You’re giving them back the dignity of choice and the power of hope. Your faithful sponsorship of $39/month* will bring a vulnerable child hope and joy. Your monthly gift will combine with other sponsors’ gifts to show God’s love, helping kids and families get sustainable access to life’s basics such as education, hygiene products, clean water, and The Living Water.
